Privacy Policy
Neon Pixel Studios is a small, independent app studio based in Australia. Currency Companion is designed to provide useful currency tools without requiring an account, showing advertising, or tracking people across apps and websites.

Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Currency Companion app for iPhone and iPad, its widgets, Shortcuts and App Intents, and this Currency Companion privacy webpage.
Information stored on your device
Currency Companion stores information needed to provide its features. This information remains within the app and its private shared container used by the app and its widgets.
- Currency preferences: your Home, Local, and Travel Currency selections and related converter settings.
- Saved trips: trip names, selected Local and Travel Currencies, and the time a trip was last applied.
- App preferences: appearance, haptic feedback, onboarding status, and other settings.
- Offline exchange rates: the most recently downloaded exchange rates and their update time, allowing conversions to continue when the device is offline.
- Widget information: a local snapshot of the latest conversion needed to display the Currency Companion widget.
- Engagement information: limited on-device counters and dates used to decide whether optional support invitations or App Store review requests may be shown. This information is not sent to Neon Pixel Studios.
Currency amounts entered into the converter or Bill screen are calculated on your device. Entered amounts and saved trip names are not sent to Neon Pixel Studios as part of an exchange-rate request.
Currency Companion does not require an account and does not currently synchronise saved trips or app preferences through a Neon Pixel Studios account or server.
Exchange-rate requests
When an internet connection is available, Currency Companion sends the selected base currency code to a Cloudflare-hosted service operated by Neon Pixel Studios. The service retrieves current exchange rates from Frankfurter and returns them to the app.
Entered amounts, saved trip names, and your other saved app preferences are not included in the exchange-rate request.
Standard network information, such as an IP address, request time, and error information, may be processed temporarily by Cloudflare and related internet infrastructure to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service. Neon Pixel Studios does not use this information for advertising, tracking, or user profiling, and persistent request logging is disabled.
Exchange rates are indicative and may differ from rates offered by banks, payment-card providers, currency exchanges, or other financial services.
Optional in-app purchases
Currency Companion offers optional consumable tips using Apple’s StoreKit system. Apple processes the purchase and payment information. Neon Pixel Studios does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Currency Companion receives limited transaction information from Apple, such as the product identifier, verification result, and purchase status, so it can complete the transaction and display a confirmation.
Tips are optional. They do not unlock features, content, or an ongoing entitlement.
Contacting support
Choosing Contact Support in Currency Companion opens your email app with a draft addressed to Neon Pixel Studios.
The draft may include the Currency Companion app version and the operating-system version to help diagnose a problem. You can review, edit, or remove this information before sending the email.
When you send a support email, Neon Pixel Studios receives your email address, the contents of the message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. This information is used to answer your request and provide support.
Analytics, diagnostics, and advertising
Currency Companion does not include third-party advertising and does not use your activity for cross-app or cross-website tracking.
At the date of this policy, Currency Companion does not include a third-party analytics SDK.
Apple may provide Neon Pixel Studios with aggregated or privacy-preserving crash reports, performance information, and usage diagnostics when you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Apple device settings.
Website and service providers
The Neon Pixel Studios website and related online services may use third-party infrastructure providers for hosting, security, content delivery, email, and exchange-rate data.
These providers may process the technical information needed to provide and secure their services, including IP addresses and request details. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
This privacy page does not use advertising or marketing cookies.
Sharing and sale of information
Neon Pixel Studios does not sell or rent personal information.
Information may be processed by service providers only where needed to provide the app, website, exchange-rate service, optional purchases, email support, diagnostics, security, or related infrastructure.
Relevant providers may include:
- Apple for App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, and optional diagnostics.
- Hosting and security providers for the Neon Pixel Studios website and online services.
- Exchange-rate providers for current currency data.
- Email providers when you choose to contact support.
Retention and deletion
- Locally stored app information remains on your device until you change or delete it, reset the relevant setting, or remove the app.
- Saved trips can be renamed or deleted from the Trips screen.
- Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond to the request, resolve a problem, maintain appropriate support records, or meet legal obligations.
- Technical service logs are retained according to the operational and security practices of the relevant service provider.
- Purchase records are retained by Apple according to Apple’s policies and legal obligations.
Your choices
- Change or reset your currency setup from Currency Companion’s Settings screen.
- Rename or delete saved trips from the Trips screen.
- Remove Currency Companion from your device to remove its local app data, subject to Apple’s device backup and restore behaviour.
- Control whether Apple shares diagnostics with app developers using your device’s Privacy & Security settings.
- Contact Neon Pixel Studios to ask about, correct, or request deletion of personal information held in support correspondence.
Children’s privacy
Currency Companion does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to Neon Pixel Studios through a support email may contact us to request its deletion.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Currency Companion’s features, service providers, or legal requirements change.
The current version will remain available at this URL. The date near the top of the page will be updated when material changes are made.
